The tyrannical leader of the association, Leonard Sr, seeks to steal his property cheaply
Story
When maple syrup producer Ruth Landry sees her livelihood under attack from greedy competitors who were once her friends, she hatches a plan to get revenge and shake up the industry. Based on the theft of $18 million worth of maple syrup from a warehouse in Quebec in 2011-2012; five people were sentenced to prison. In rural Quebec, Ruth Landry (Margot Martindale) struggles to maintain her maple farm while her husband is in a coma.
Fargo is strong in this
Remy Bouchard (Guillaume Cyr) is a lonely and frustrated security guard at the association’s warehouse. Mike Byrne (Chris Diamantopoulos) is a low-level security guard from a Boston mafia family. As with this franchise, it could be a movie or a TV show.
Tribute was paid
There’s still snow, eccentric criminals and provincials, and even a true/fictional story. The cast is led by the gorgeous Margot Martindale and the slightly insane Chris Diamantopoulos. At first, two things bothered me, which somewhat slowed down the progress of the series.
It takes some getting used to
This story is inherently stupid, and I’m not sure that Fargo’s treatment is worth it. The second problem is the language barrier. Despite the slow start, the series leaves much to be desired.
